Living A Life Of Excess
Sometimes it is hard to be grateful for the things you have because we are all receiving so many images of what we think we should possess. Reality TV is my guilty pleasure and after recently watching the Kardashians, a family I am still unsure of how they became famous besides Kim’s sex tape, I have come to realize that living a life of excess sure does not make people happy. I have also started watching Ladies of London, unfortunately, it seems all of the Americans on the show are social climbers. Some more than others.
No matter what country, race, or gender these men and women on these reality shows are all grasping for more money, fame, and power, none of them working on their souls. Some of you may say they do not have one or sold it off a long time ago, but we all have our moments of weakness.
As I get older and begin to find my place in the world, I have come to realize that I am focusing on the wrong things. It’s not about what I do not have, it is about what I am trying to achieve, and who I am going to help along the way. An expensive bag has never held me at night, my money has never said I love you, and when I leave this earth none of those items are coming with me. The Egyptians tried, but we just dug it up after they were gone to again possess their old items.
So, does success mean you have to possess a lot of expensive things?
